Madison County Circuit Judge Daniel Stack will hear Rosewood Care Center's motion to transfer venue in a case filed by a resident seeking damages in excess of $300,000 for suffering falls, malnutrition, bedsores and a "raging" infection.
Kenneth Brueggeman filed a suit against Rosewood Care Center of Edwardsville May 13, 2005, alleging he has incurred huge expenses for medical care and suffered and permanent loss of enjoyment of life's pleasures.
Brueggeman became a resident of Rosewood on Dec. 26, 2003, seeking medical care and treatment for his nutritional status, skin condition, neurological condition, and his general and physical condition.
He is represented by Merle Bassett of the Bassett Law Office in Wood River.
Stephen Strum of Sandberg, Phoenix & Von Gontard in St. Louis will present arguments on behalf of Rosewood.
This case will be heard at 9 a.m. on Jan 25. Stack also will hold a case management conference as well.
