Armstrong Teasdale, Spalty, recognized as leaders

St. Louis, MO- When large and Fortune 1000 companies were asked to identify law firms that provide outstanding client service, Armstrong Teasdale LLP emerged as a leader on a recent survey conducted by BTI Consulting Group Inc. (BTI). BTI interviewed over 200 corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 companies to discover how they define outstanding client service, which law firms deliver it, and what specifically makes a law firm stand out from the rest of the pack.

This year only 240 individual law firms were recognized nationally, including Armstrong Teasdale, that have differentiated themselves through exceptional client service.

The results of this objective, independent research are being published in the 5th annual report, The Survey of Client Service Performance for Law Firms: The BTI Client Service A-Team 2006.

"Armstrong Teasdale serves our clients effectively in high stakes matters by knowing our client's business and providing a high level of attention to every business organization and individual that approaches us for advice or representation over a broad range of legal issues," explains Richard Scherrer, managing partner.

As part of the recognition Armstrong Teasdale received, Edward R. Spalty, was individually identified by a client for delivering truly superior client service.

Nationally, 134 attorneys were named to The 2006 BTI Client Service All-Star Team for Law Firms for their ability to practice in innovative ways that add more value to the client relationship. BTI relies on the most important judge of client service - the clients themselves - to define client service and identify, in an unprompted manner, the attorneys who deliver the best client service.

Spalty engages in complex business counseling and litigation matters. He is a former managing partner of the firm's Kansas City office, and co-chairs the Antitrust, Franchise and Distribution Law Practice and the Kansas City Business Litigation Practice Group.

Spalty is admitted in Missouri state and federal courts, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and the Eastern District of Wisconsin federal courts, the 8th and 10th U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the U.S. Supreme Court, and has appeared in the courts of numerous other state and federal jurisdictions around the country.

He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (2006) for Franchise Law, The Best of the Bar by the Kansas City Business Journal, the 2005 Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers, numerous Who's Who publications, and is past Chairman of the KCMBA's Antitrust, Business Tort and Franchise Law Committee.

Spalty received his J.D. degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1973 and his B.A. degree from Emory University in 1968.
