First Bank initiates collection proceedings for alleged debt

First Bank filed a lawsuit against a St. Clair County resident for allegedly failing to pay back a debt.

First Bank filed a lawsuit on May 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against David R. Isom, alleging negligence in a March 2013 financial arrangement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff received a promissory note in the principal amount of $53,500.72 on or about March 27, 2013, and failed to pay it upon maturity on Sept. 27, 2013, the suit states.

The plaintiff alleges that Isom’s balance currently due is the sum of $76,964.71, plus pre-judgment interest accruing after April 21, 2015; and the cost of collection, including reasonable attorneys’ fees.

Stating that the defendant has failed to pay the balance of funds due despite First Bank’s demand for payment, and asserting that the defendant is the legal holder of the debt, the plaintiff seeks compensation in the exact amount of $76,964.71 plus attorneys’ fees and costs.

The bank is represented by Teri Havron of Goldenberg Heller Antognoli & Rowland in Edwardsville, Ill.

First American Bank is a commercial bank headquartered in Elk Grove, Ill. The plaintiff’s attorney included a notarized affidavit in the filing.
