A woman injured in a rear-end collision in Wood River is suing the driver of the car she alleges caused the accident.
According to a lawsuit filed on April 24 in Madison County Circuit Court, Jackie A. Young filed a complaint against Norma J. Ferrari and Angela Ferrari.
The suit says that on June 7, 2011, Young was driving her vehicle south on Illinois Route 3, when she stopped to turn left onto Illinois Route 143 in Wood River.
One of the defendants was driving right behind Young and allegedly failed to maintain a proper look-out, failed to maintain control and failed to reduce speed, as well as drove too fast, the lawsuit states.
As a result, Young was rear-ended by the defendants, allegedly causing her injury, pain and suffering, disability, loss of a normal life and medical expense, the lawsuit states.
The plaintiff seeks in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
