A woman injured in a car accident is suing the driver of the car she alleges is responsible.
According to a lawsuit filed on April 27, Christina M. Curtis, of Troy, filed a complaint against Tyler J. Bolt, of Granite City.
On March 21, 2015, Curtis was driving her 1997 Saturn SC on Century Avenue, about to turn left onto West Pontoon Road, when the defendant driving a 2007 Chevy Cobalt going east on Pontoon Road collided with the plaintiff, the suit states.
According to the lawsuit, he had a duty to "exercise ordinary care" when operating his car so as not to injure the plaintiff.
The plaintiff, alleging the defendant failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under control, failed to keep his vehicle at a safe speed, failed to use caution, failed to decrease his speed and failed to avoid colliding with the plaintiff.
The plaintiff is represented by attorney Keith Short in Edwardsville.
Madison County Circuit Court case number 15-L-519.
