Belleville ambulance company claims its software was inoperable

A medical transport company claims a software firm provided it with software that doesn't work.

A1 Med Car Services LLC filed a complaint on April 24 against CTS Software Inc. in St. Clair Circuit Court.

The plaintiff is a start-up medical transportation business that claims the defendant tried to induce it to buy rights "in a product that, despite (the) defendant's representations to the contrary, simply did not work," the lawsuit states. As a result,  the plaintiff, self-described in the lawsuit as a "staple of the local community and a provider of invaluable services to those in need," now has to pay Illinois $271,255.99 over mishandled Medicaid billing.

The lawsuit states that the plaintiff tried to contact the defendant before suing, but got no response.

The plaintiff, alleging counts of fraudulent inducement and misrepresentation, as well as negligent misrepresentation, breach of contract, and violations of the state's Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act and North Carolina Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, seeks the money it believes it's owed, plus costs.

The plaintiff is represented by Daniel C. Nestor at Bryan Cave LLP in St. Louis.

St. Clair Circuit Court case number 15-L-243.
