Motorist sues driver in two-car collision

A Madison County man filed a lawsuit against another driver for allegedly causing a collision.

Harald J. Wesley Jansson filed a lawsuit on April 29 in Madison County Circuit Court against Jasna Zecevic, claiming vehicular negligence in a February 2014 motor vehicle accident.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was operating a 2011 Dodge Ram truck southbound on I-255 at or near Mile Post 3 in the Township of Chouteau in Madison County on Feb. 17, 2014, at approximately 5:37 a.m. The suit states that the defendant headed northbound in a 1997 Mitsubishi automobile and collided with the plaintiff’s vehicle.

Jansson’s suit claims that Zecevic drove her vehicle negligently; failed to reduce speed, brake or steer to avoid an accident; and failed to keep a proper lookout for traffic and the road conditions at the time.

The plaintiff claims he incurred extensive injuries to his head, neck and back.

Alleging pain and suffering, lost wages and earning capacity, medical expenses, and disability and disfigurement, Jansson seeks damages between $15,000 and $75,000; plus attorneys’ fees and costs.

He is represented by Rodney Caffey of The Caffey Law Firm in Godfrey.
