A St. Clair County resident is suing her insurance company for failure to reimburse following a burglary.
Amanda Cramer filed a lawsuit on April 21 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Allstate Insurance Company, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 27, 2013, Cramer, who owned property in Belleville, was issued an insurance policy by the defendant intended to cover Cramer’s dwelling and personal property, including any incidents of theft.
Following a burglary or theft at the homeowner’s residence on Dec. 19, 2013, Allstate has not fully replaced or restored the plaintiff’s personal property, the suit states.
Cramer accuses the company of breach of obligation.
Cramer seeks damages of $90,098, less any applicable deductible, plus prejudgment interest, attorney fees and costs. She is represented by attorney Ryan Mahoney of Cates Mahoney in Swansea.
