Lawsuit alleging homeowner tripped on roofer’s cable settled

St. Clair County Circuit Judge Robert LeChien dismissed a woman's case on March 12 after the parties reached a settlement in a case alleging a woman was injured while a company was repairing her roof.

According to the July 22 lawsuit, Mary Lee Parks claimed defendant Noble Roofing and Exteriors was working on repairing Parks’ roof on July 25, 2012, when an employee pulled a cable which tripped Parks and caused her to sustain injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligently using its equipment.

Parks was represented by Michael L. McGlynn and McGlynn & McGlynn in Belleville.

Thomas M. Crawford and Lindsay Cote Donald of Litchfield Cavo LLP in Chicago represented the defendant.
