Attorney Kurt Schroeder has joined the Belleville office of the St. Louis law firm Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C. where he will serve its real estate practice group.
Schroeder comes to Greensfelder from the Belleville law firm Mathis, Marifian & Richter, Ltd. His real estate law practice includes sales and acquisitions, tax deferred exchanges, leasing, real estate development, tax increment financing, zoning and land use, eminent domain, mineral rights, and real estate litigation. He also provides legal services in the areas of corporate law, trusts and estates and business litigation.
For more than 30 years, Schroeder has represented national, regional and local clients including real estate developers, financial institutions, hospitals, school districts, railroads, corporations and individuals in real estate matters involving commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential properties.
Schroeder earned his law degree from Washington University School of Law and his M.B.A. from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville where he also earned a degree in accounting.
Schroeder is active in the Metro East community where he serves on the Belleville Township High School District 201 Board of Education and was its past president. He is a director of Memorial Hospital East and co-chairs the Memorial Hospital Foundation Capital Campaign. Schroeder also serves the board of the Lewis & Clark Council Boy Scouts of America, part of more than 15 years of service to the Boy Scouts. In addition, he is a member of the Rotary Club of Belleville and helped found Fire Support Ministries, a chaplaincy service for fire districts in the community.
