The National Collegiate Student Loan Trust has filed a lawsuit against a couple it claims failed to repay more than $70,000 in education loans.
The trust provided student loan funds to defendants Jamie Gulley and Michael Gulley, who have subsequently defaulted on the loans, according to the complaint filed Jan. 21 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
"The defendants subsequently defaulted pursuant to the terms of the note resulting in the balance due plaintiff of $71,346.62," the suit says.
Although the trust has demanded payment from the defendants, it claims they have refused to make the required payments.
In addition to the money it claims it is owed, the trust is seeking court costs and is represented by David Lipschutz of Blitt and Gaines in Wheeling.
