A woman has filed suit against the driver whom she alleges rear-ended her vehicle.
Tina Graves filed suit Jan. 15 in St. Clair County Court against Brian Allen Smith.
According to the complaint, Graves was stopped at a red light at the intersection of state Route 13 and South 74th Street in St. Clair County on Nov. 5, 2013, when defendant Smith struck the back of Graves' vehicle. Because of the collision, Graves suffered severe and permanent injuries to her neck, shoulders, right arm and back, and incurred medical costs, the suit states.
Smith negligently failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast and disregarded a traffic control device, the complaint says.
Graves seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Attorney David H. Bone of Belleville will represent Graves.
