A woman alleges she suffered disability and disfigurement after a driver struck her vehicle.
Christy L. Busby filed a lawsuit Dec. 22, 2014, in Madison County Circuit Court against Kaitlin S. Keenan.
According to the complaint, Busby was driving in Alton on March 21, 2013, when Keenan failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into her vehicle.
In addition to her disability and disfigurement, the suit states, Busby suffered great pain and mental anguish and lost earnings because of the collision. She also incurred medical costs and suffered from a seriously impaired earning capacity, according to the suit.
Busby blames Keenan for causing the collision, saying she failed to yield, drove while distracted, failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner so as to strike her vehicle and failed to properly apply her brakes, the complaint says.
Busby seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Attorney Gregory M. Tobin, of Pratt and Tobin in East Alton, will represent Busby.
Madison County Circuit Court case number: 14-L-1757.
