Man alleges co-owner failed to provide him with his adequate share

A man alleges he lost his rightful interest in a company after his partner granted himself 60 percent ownership.

Michael Daube alleges he and defendant Patrick Voss own a company called VFX Creative Studios with Voss claiming 60 percent ownership and Daube 40 percent.

However, when Daube requested his pay from Voss, he was given only $5,804.01, according to the complaint filed Dec. 29, 2014 in Madison County Circuit Court against Voss. In September 2014, he received a letter indicating that Voss no longer wanted him as a partner, the suit states.

"Defendant Patrick Voss has provided himself with business funds in an amount between $20,000 and $84,000 or more and continues," the complaint says.

Daube alleges he is entitled to two-thirds of the funds but Voss has refused to provide him with the money he is owed.

In his complaint, Daube seeks the money he says he is owed, plus other relief the court deems just and a judgment of no less than $100,000. Attorney Bill T. Walker, of Granite City, will represent Daube.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 14-L-1770.
