Injuries claimed in alleged Caseyville bulldog attack

A St. Clair County man alleges he suffered various injuries after two bulldogs attacked him.

Thomas Geiger filed a lawsuit Dec. 9 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Britney Sullivan.

In his complaint, Geiger alleges he was walking his dog on South 5th Street in Caseyville on Aug. 17, 2014, when Sullivan's dogs, Flower and Bear, attacked him without provocation.

Because of the incident, Geiger suffered arm, hip, buttocks, thigh, hand and wrist injuries and incurred medical costs of $90,083.58, according to the complaint. He also experienced extreme mental anguish, emotional distress and severe pain, the suit states.

Sullivan negligently failed to warn of her dogs' dangerous propensities and failed to fence or restrain her dogs to protect others from them, according to the suit.

Geiger seeks more than $200,000, plus costs. He is represented by attorney Ryan L. Bruning of Page Law in St. Louis.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 14-L-487.
