A development company alleges its insurance companies refuse to fully pay for damages caused to its property after various incidents.
Westhaven Gardens Development, Phillip Sheets Sr., Sheets Enterprises and Hidden Pearl filed a lawsuit Dec. 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Pekin Insurance Company and Farmers Automobile Insurance Association.
Westhaven alleges it has numerous claims pending with the defendant insurance companies for property damages, hail damages, wind damages, vandalism, theft and other matters.
Damaged properties owned by Westhaven are at: 301 West Washington in Freeburg; 7729 Jefferson Road in Belleville; 7716 Jefferson Road in Belleville; 717 S. High St. in Belleville; 1 Clark Drive in Fairview Heights; 200 Sheffield Circle in Fairview Heights; 11 Shallowbrook Drive in O'Fallon, 1013 LaSalle St. in Belleville; and 2121 W. Main St. in Belleville, according to the complaint.
Westhaven seeks the funds it alleges it should have received, which total more than $90,000, plus costs.
Attorney Bernard J. Ysursa of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer and Shevlin in Belleville will represent Westhaven.
