Woman files lawsuit against driver who allegedly struck vehicle

A woman has filed suit against the driver whom she alleges struck her vehicle.

According to the complaint, Sandra Bandy was driving north on Illinois Street in Waterloo on Dec. 27, 2013, when defendant Richard Miller, who was driving west on Columbia Avenue for defendant Reliable Sanitation, struck the front of Bandy's vehicle.

Because of the collision, Bandy suffered injuries and incurred medical costs of more than $30,678.34, according to the complaint filed Dec. 16 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Miller negligently drove too fast, failed to keep a careful lookout, failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision and came into contact with Bandy's vehicle, the suit states.

Bandy seeks a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs. Attorney Andrew G. Toennies of Lashly and Baer in St. Louis will represent her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 14-L-802.
