East St. Louis sued by woman claiming apartment building was torn down without permission

A woman alleges the city of East St. Louis tore down her apartment building without her permission.

Ciara Corley filed a lawsuit Dec. 16 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against the city.

In her complaint, Corley alleges the city tore down her apartment building at 1707 North Park Drive in January without her consent. As a result, Corley has sustained damages of more than $75,000, according to the complaint.

Corley seeks a judgment of more than $75,000, plus costs.

Attorney Blake G. Meinders of Belleville will represent Corley.
