A man is suing the operators of the St. Louis-area light rail for injuries allegedly sustained in a fall on a train platform.
Harvey Jackson filed the lawsuit against Bi-Sate Development Agency, doing business as Metro, in St. Clair County Circuit Court on Nov. 17, citing negligence.
According to the suit, Jackson tripped on a metal rod sticking out of the walkway at an East St. Louis train station on Nov. 18, 2013. He alleges he sustained permanent injuries on his right side, including his neck, right shoulder and right knee.
Jackson is suing for damages in excess of $50,000, plus court fees. He is represented by attorneys Michael J. Brunton and Mary M. Stewart of Brunton Law Offices in Collinsville.
