A man has filed suit against the driver whom he claims ran a stop light and struck his vehicle.
Ethan Dillard filed suit Oct. 20 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Randy McQuery and Musselman and Hall Contracting.
Dillard alleges he was driving west on Old St. Louis Road approaching the intersection of South 74th Street in Belleville on May 2, when defendant McQuery ran a stoplight and struck the passenger side of Dillard's vehicle, causing it to flip over.
Because of the collision, Dillard received head, neck, knee and back injuries and suffered great pain and mental anguish, according to the complaint.
McQuery negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep the vehicle under proper control, drove too fast and drove while under the influence of alcohol, the suit states.
McQuery was driving a Musselman and Hall Contracting vehicle at the time of the collision, according to the complaint.
In his complaint, Dillard seeks more than $100,000, plus other relief the court deems just.
Attorney Van-Lear P. Eckert of the Law Office of Van-Lear P. Eckert in Belleville will represent Dillard.
