A Madison County man is accused of being asleep at the wheel when he allegedly rear-ended another driver in Collinsville.
Cameron Bohnenstiehl filed a lawsuit against Cory Travis Oct. 2 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Bohnenstiehl says he was driving his Chevrolet Cobalt on West Belt Line Road in July 2013. Near the intersection of Vandalia Street, Bohnenstiehl claims he was hit from behind by a Chevrolet Cavalier being driven by Travis. According to the complaint, Travis told the police he had just finished working a long shift and must have fallen asleep prior to the crash.
Bohnenstiehl says he was hurt in the crash and asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, loss of income and court fees. Attorney Michael P. Glisson of Alton represents him.
Madison County Circuit Court case number: 14-L-1349.
