Granite City mobile home park named in injury claim

A Madison County woman suing the owner of a Granite City mobile home park alleging she fell down a set of porch steps.

Gina M. Lloyd filed the lawsuit against Okawville Associates LLC Oct. 6 in Madison County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, Lloyd was walking down the stairs of a mobile home porch in Lake Shore Estates on April 19 when the second step collapsed. She says she fell down the stairs and hurt her neck and back. Lloyd says it was necessary to undergo surgery to repair the injuries.

Lloyd claims the renter of the mobile home had complained several times to the Lake Shore Estates office manager about the defective steps prior to her fall. However, they allegedly did nothing to fix the problem.

Lloyd accuses Okawville Associates of negligence for allegedly failing to properly maintain the stairs. She asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income, and court costs.

Attorneys Keith Short and Zach Pashea, of Edwardsville, represent Lloyd.
