Swansea Wendy's accused of negligence

A Swansea fast food restaurant is being sued by a customer who says she slipped on a wet floor there.

Judith Whicker filed the lawsuit Sept. 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Wendy's International Inc., a corporation doing business as Wendy's, The Wendy's Company and Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers Swansea Store No. 08329S.

Whicker claims she was a customer of the Swansea Wendy's in the 2600 block of Illinois Street in November 2012 when she slipped on a wet floor and received serious injuries.

Whicker accuses the restaurant of negligence for allegedly failing to clean up the liquid on the floor or warn patrons of the danger. She asks for more than $15,000 for medical expenses, lost income and court costs.

Attorney Don Cary Collins of Belleville represents her.
