A Wood River car service is being sued after one of its clients allegedly was injured when a driver crashed the car she was riding in.
Amy Lemaster filed a lawsuit Sept. 12 in Madison County Circuit Court against Excel Transportation Services and Spencer Corning.
According to the complaint, Lemaster was a passenger in a Chevrolet Suburban being driven by Corning, an employee of Excel Transportation. Driving east on Interstate Highway 70, Lemaster says Corning lost control of the Suburban, drove off the road and backward down an embankment. The car allegedly crashed into several trees before coming to a stop. Lemaster alleges her knee was hurt in the crash.
Lemaster accuses the company and its driver of negligence. She seeks more than $100,000 in damages for medical bills, loss of income and court fees.
Attorney Matthew R. Chapman of Granite City represents Lemaster.
