City of East St. Louis sued by motorcyclist claiming injury from pot hole

A motorcyclist is suing the City of East St. Louis claiming injuries from hitting a pot hole on Waverly Avenue on March 10.

Bobby C. Clayton filed the complaint Aug. 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

He claims the city knew or should have known of the condition of the street, which he says was cracked, crumbled and in an otherwise dilapidated and deteriorated condition.

Clayton says he fell after hitting the pot hole, resulting in severe injury and pain.

Represented by Matthew P. Young of the Kuehn Law Firm in Belleville, Clayton is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 14-L-597.
