Gold Rule Mine Road accident leads to St. Clair County suit

A man injured in a vehicle collision is suing the driver who allegedly caused the accident.

Daniel Wood filed suit July 23 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kenneth Jenkins.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 16 Wood was driving his vehicle north on Baldwin Road in St. Clair County when he was struck by a vehicle heading west on Gold Rule Mine Road driven by the defendant. Wood suffered injuries to his neck and back due to the defendant failing to keep a proper lookout, driving his vehicle in a manner to cause a collision, failing to properly apply his brakes, operating his vehicle at excessive speed and failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic.

Wood is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Fairview Heights attorneys Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey and Michelle M. Rich of Thomas C. Rich PC.
