MCBA elects officers at annual meeting; Threlkeld to serve as President

Lawyers of the Madison County Bar Association have elected Christopher Threlkeld as president for the 2014-15 year.

“I am extremely honored that the members chose me to be the President of this organization and to help publicize all the good we do in the community,” said Threlkeld, of Lucco, Brown, Threlkeld & Dawson in Edwardsville.

Other officers elected at the association's annual meeting were First Vice-President retired judge Ellar Duff of Alton; Second Vice-President Eric Carlson of Byron, Carlson, Petri & Kalb in Edwardsville; Treasurer Troy Walton of Schoen, Walton, Telken & Foster in East St. Louis; Recording Secretary David Weder of Lewis, Rice, & Fingersh in St. Louis and Edwardsville; and Corresponding Secretary Patrick King of King Law Firm in Alton.

The association exists as both a network of legal professionals and as a legal resource for the communities and citizens of Madison County.

To promote these objectives, members engage in community outreach programs and events throughout the year, including Law Day and the People’s Law School. Additionally, the association sponsors events and educational opportunities for its members.

The association also has a speaker’s bureau and makes lawyers available to discuss different areas of the law for civic groups and for schools. To contact the bar association for a speaker or other information, visit its website at www.madcobar.com.
