A lawsuit has been filed following a vehicle accident which allegedly injured a passenger.
John D. Collins filed suit June 18 in Madison County Circuit Court against Thomas E. Berry.
According to the complaint, on June 29, 2013, Collins was a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on State Street in Alton when Berry, who was operating a vehicle in the 200 block of State Street, collided with the vehicle Collins was riding in. The plaintiff sustained injuries as a result of the defendant failing to maintain control of his vehicle and failing to keep his vehicle in the proper lane of travel to avoid a collision.
Collins is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by East Alton attorney David W. Dugan.
