Driver allegedly runs stoplight, causes collision

A passenger is suing two drivers she alleges caused the collision she was injured in.

Laresha Waller filed suit June 16 in Madison County Circuit Court against Clayton Vermillion and William Blakley.

According to the complaint, on April 4, Blakley was driving east on Harrison Street in Madison County with Waller as a passenger when Vermillion, who was driving north on Illinois Route 203, disregarded an intersection stop light and collided with Blakley's vehicle.

The defendants are accused of failing to keep a proper lookout, driving at excessive speed, failing to give an audible warning, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision and driving in a reckless manner.

Waller is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Edwardsville attorneys Brian M. Wendler and Ellen R. Burford of Wendler Law PC.
