A man claims he suffered disability and disfigurement after a driver struck his vehicle.
Jimmy D. Harrison Jr. filed a lawsuit June 27 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Timothy D. DeBourge.
In his complaint, Harrison claims he drove west on Illinois Route 3 in Alton on June 13, 2013, when DeBourge ran into his vehicle.
Because of the collision, Harrison suffered great pain and mental anguish, lost wages and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.
He blames DeBourge for causing the collision, saying the defendant negligently failed to yield, drove while distracted, failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner to strike Harrison’s vehicle and failed to reduce his speed to avoid an accident.
Harrison is seeking a judgment of no more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just. He is being represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt and Tobin in East Alton.
Madison County Circuit Court case number 14-L-921.
