A man claims he suffered neck, shoulders and back injuries when a driver rear-ended his vehicle.
Ronald D. Stowmatt filed a lawsuit May 28 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Rebecca Sue Herrin.
In his complaint, Stowmatt claims he was driving west on U.S. 67 and was stopped at an intersection in Alton on May 30 when Herrin, who was driving in the same direction, struck the back of his vehicle.
In addition to his injuries, Stowmatt was hindered and prevented from attending to his usual duties, incurred medical costs and lost wages, according to the complaint.
Stowmatt blames Herrin for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, failed to keep her vehicle under control and failed to keep a proper lookout.
Stowmatt is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs. He is being represented by attorney Bob L. Perica of The Perica Law Firm in Wood River.
