A lawsuit has been filed following a two-car accident. Juanita Myatt filed suit May 21 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kathryn Leopold.
According to the complaint, Myatt was driving south on 74th Street in Stookey on June 1, 2013. At the time Leopold was driving a vehicle directly behind Myatt, and collided with the plaintiff when Myatt slowed down at the 74th Street and Blue Ridge Drive intersection. Myatt sustained severe and permanent injuries and incurred medical bills as a result of the accident, the suit states.
Leopold is accused of carelessly failing to keep her vehicle under control, failing to keep a proper lookout, carelessly operating her vehicle and negligently following too close to the plaintiff's vehicle.
Myatt is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is being represented in the case by attorney John M. English of Kassly, Bone & English P.C.
