Road-O-Master Contractors sued over Staunton accident

A Collinsville resident claims he sustained severe injuries in a rear-end collision.

Terry R. Bosen filed a lawsuit May 22 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Road-O-Master Contractors and Charles L. Cummings.

In his complaint, Bosen claims he was driving a 2010 International truck north on Route 66 in Staunton on June 4, 2012, when Cummings, who was driving a 1989 Freightliner for Road-O-Master, rear-ended his vehicle.

In addition to his severe injuries, Bosen experienced pain and suffering, incurred medical costs, lost wages, suffered a diminished earning capacity and lost his enjoyment of life because of the collision, according to the complaint.

Bosen blames Cummings for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, followed too closely and drove too fast.

In his two-count complaint, Bosen seeks a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just. He is being represented by Eric J. Carlson of Byron, Carlson, Petri and Kalb in Edwardsville.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 14-L-753.
