Wood River accident causes injuries, suit says

A man has filed suit against the driver he claims failed to yield the right-of-way at an intersection.

Keith S. Ward filed suit May 15 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Brigid N. York.

According to the complaint, Ward was driving north on Forest Drive near its intersection with Sixth Street in Wood River on Jan. 14, 2013, when the defendant, who was driving east on Sixth Street, struck his vehicle. Because of the collision, Ward suffered injuries, incurred medical costs and lost income, according to the complaint.

York negligently failed to yield the right-of-way, drove too fast, failed to keep her vehicle under proper control, failed to have her brakes in proper working order, failed to keep a careful lookout and failed to obey a stop sign, the suit states.

Ward is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

He is being represented by Steven M. Dioneda of Kullmann, Klein and Dioneda in St. Louis.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 14-L-724.
