Accident at Highway 50 in O'Fallon subject of suit

A woman has filed suit against the driver she claims rear-ended her vehicle.

Regina Jackson filed suit May 15 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dwayne White.

According to the complaint, Jackson was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry east on West Highway 50 in O’Fallon on June 29, 2012, when the defendant, who was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram east on the same highway, struck the back of her vehicle.

Because of the collision, Jackson was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled, suffered extensive injuries to her back, hips and knees and incurred medical costs, the suit states. She also suffered a disability, lost her normal life, experienced pain and suffering and lost wages, the complaint says.

Jackson blames White for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision and drove too fast.

Jackson is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs. She will be represented by David C. Nelson of Nelson and Nelson in Belleville.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 14-L-334.
