Driver claims she was side-swiped on West Main in Belleville

A woman has filed suit against the driver she claims side-swiped her vehicle.

Cheryl Crow filed suit May 5 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Irwin Jones.

According to the complaint, Crow was driving east on West Main Street in Belleville on Feb. 13, when the defendant, who was driving east on the same road, struck the side of her vehicle.

Because of the collision, Crow was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled, suffered head and neck injuries and incurred medical costs, the suit states. She also suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering and lost wages, the complaint says.

Crow blames Jones for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner so as to strike the front and passenger side of her vehicle, failed to properly apply the brakes of the vehicle, drove too fast and failed to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic.

Crow is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs. She is being represented in the case by Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey and Michelle M. Rich of Fairview Heights.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 14-L-326.
