A St. Clair County woman is suing over claims she was injured during vascular surgery.
Theresa Manley and David Allen Manley Sr. filed a lawsuit May 6 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Richard D. Coats M.D. and M.S.A. Alliance LLC, doing business as Southern Illinois Vascular Surgery, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, Theresa Manley underwent surgery by Dr. Coats at Southern Illinois Vascular on Jan. 9, 2013, when Manley's left iliac vein was torn and was negligently repaired with a non-flexible stent. The defendants are accused of negligence in injuring the plaintiff's vascular supply.
The Manleys are seeking more than $50,000 in damages. They are being represented in the case by attorney Joseph A. Bartholomew.
