A woman claims she suffered serious injuries after she tripped while shopping at St. Clair Square.
Annie Stancil filed a lawsuit April 21 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against St. Clair Square.
In her complaint, Stancil alleges she was shopping at St. Clair Square in Fairview Heights on April 22, 2012, when she slipped and fell in a walkway on the lower level.
In addition to her injuries, Stancil incurred medical costs and suffered great pain and mental anguish, according to the complaint.
She blames St. Clair Square for causing her injuries, saying it failed to remove a slick condition that had accumulated on the walkway, failed to remove a deformity, failed to warn of the dangerous conditions on the walkway and failed to inspect the walkway.
Stancil is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs. She is being represented by Blake G. Meinders in Belleville.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 14-L-301.
