A woman has filed suit against her electrical company, saying she tripped over an uneven sidewalk.
Luanne D. Hoey filed suit April 17 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Southwestern Electrical Company and the city of Collinsville.
According to the complaint, Hoey was walking on a concrete sidewalk on the north side of Gateway Drive in Collinsville on Aug. 12, when she tripped and fell due to a height discrepancy between a newly installed section of sidewalk and its adjoining sections.
Because of her fall, Luanne Hoey suffered right arm and shoulder injuries, incurred medical costs, endured pain and suffering, lost earnings and suffered disability, according to the complaint.
Her husband, Timothy Hoey, claims he permanently lost his wife’s consortium, including her love, guidance, companionship, support and services, because of the incident.
Luanne D. Hoey is seeking a judgment of more than $200,000, plus other costs the court deems just. She is being represented by Aaron D. Lauter.
