Edwardsville attorneys James E. Gorman and Stephen C. Mudge are suing after they sold a property but received no payments.
The suit filed April 14 in the Madison County Circuit Court alleges that Place Acquisition LLC breached contract.
Gorman and Mudge allege they entered into an agreement for the sale of their property with the defendant May 5, 2008, in Edwardsville. According to the complaint, the defendant has failed to pay the money due the plaintiffs under the contract. The suit alleges as a result of the defendant's failure to pay, the plaintiffs have incurred damages of $125,000 plus interest, attorney's fees and costs of suit.
The plaintiffs are seeking damages exceeding $50,000, interest, attorney fees and court costs. They are being represented in the case by Edwardsville attorney Michael J. Hertz of Lucco, Brown, Threlkeld and Dawson LLP.
