CSX sued over worker's alleged carpal tunnel, neuropathy

A former employee of CSX Transportation is suing after developing carpal tunnel and neuropathy.

Allen C. Barr filed a lawsuit April 9 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against CSX Transportation Inc., citing negligence.

Barr claims he began his career as a welder with the defendant in 1999. The suit alleges the repeated traumas he endured while performing his duties caused him to develop carpal tunnel and neuropathy in his right arm. According to the complaint, the defendant failed to provide Barr a safe working environment.

Barr is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented by Belleville attorney Ryan Brennan of The Brennan Law Firm P.C.

St. Clair Circuit Court case numbers 14L270.
