A St. Clair county resident is suing after sustaining injuries in an automobile collision while a passenger.
Carla J. Morris filed suit March 31 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against the city of East St. Louis and Paul E. Moore.
According to the complaint, Morris was a passenger traveling north on Mississippi Avenue at the David Street intersection when Moore pulled out, causing the plaintiff's vehicle to strike Moore's vehicle on April 25, 2013. The plaintiff contends Moore acted negligently by failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to yield to oncoming traffic, which caused the plaintiff's injuries. At the time of the accident, Moore was working as an East St. Louis employee, according to the complaint.
Morris is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs. The plaintiff is being represented by Dominic Kujawa.
