Granite City accident results in injuries and lost wages, suit says

A man has filed suit against the driver he claims rear-ended his vehicle.

David Vaughn filed suit March 24 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Eve Marie Daily.

According to the complain, Vaughn was driving east on Johnson Road about 25 feet east of Nameoki Road in Granite City on May 3, 2012, when the defendant, who was driving in the same direction, struck the back of his vehicle.

Because of the collision, Vaughn suffered neck, shoulder and back injuries, became sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint. He also suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering and lost wages, the suit states.

Daily negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner so as to strike Vaughn’s vehicle, failed to properly apply her brakes, drove too fast and followed Vaughn’s vehicle too closely, the complaint says.

Vaughn is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs. He is being represented by Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey and Michelle M. Rich of Fairview Heights.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 14-L-456.
