A man says he suffered severe injuries to his right thumb, neck, chest, head and shoulder after a driver failed to keep a proper lookout and struck his vehicle.
William W. Boster filed a lawsuit March 7 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mark D. Dunbar.
In his complaint, Boster alleges he drove a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado on Illinois Highway 159 south near its intersection with Hollywood Heights Road in Caseyville on Aug. 21, when Dunbar, who was driving a 2002 Toyota Tacoma north on Illinois Highway 159, attempted to make a left turn. However, Dunbar failed to yield to oncoming traffic and struck Boster’s vehicle, according to the complaint.
In addition to his injuries, Boster experienced pain and suffering, incurred medical costs, lost wages and his earning capacity and lost his enjoyment of life, the suit states. He also suffered disability, the complaint says.
Boster blames Dunbar for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under control, failed to yield to oncoming traffic and turned left instead of yielding to traffic.
Boster is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just. He is being represented by Eric J. Carlson of Byron, Carlson, Petri and Kalb in Edwardsville.
