Motorcyclists claim various injuries following collision

Two people have filed suit against the driver they claim struck the back of their motorcycle, causing them to sustain various injuries.

Antonio Buffo and Melissa Flowers filed a lawsuit March 3 in the Madison County Circuit Court against David M. Dillard.

In their complaint, Buffo and Flowers claim Buffo was driving his Harley Davidson FXCW west on Illinois Route 140 near its intersection with Illinois Route 159 in Fort Russell Township on June 2, when Dillard, who was driving a motorcycle in the same direction, rear-ended the Harley Davidson.

As a result of the collision, Buffo and Flowers suffered injuries to their backs, legs, arms and bodies, lost wages, incurred medical costs and were prevented from attending to their usual duties, according to the complaint.

They blame Dillard for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to obey a traffic control device, failed to keep proper control over the vehicle and failed to yield the right-of-way, the suit states.

Buffo and Flowers seek a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs. They are being represented by Lanny H. Darr II of Schrempf, Kelly, Napp and Darr in Alton.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 14-L-339.
