Four Fountains files suit against East St. Louis couple

A nursing home claims an East St. Louis couple has not paid more than $80,000 for services it provided.

Helia Southbelt Healthcare, doing business as Four Fountains, filed a lawsuit Feb. 18 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jewel M. Robinson and John M. Robinson.

In the complaint, Helia alleges Jewel M. Robinson began living at Four Seasons on Feb. 20, 2012. Since her time at Four Seasons, Jewel M. Robinson and her husband, John M. Robinson, have allegedly failed to pay all the bills they incurred during her stay, according to the complaint.

After all credits due defendants on said contract have been applied, there remains a principal balance due of $88,207.41, together with interest at the rate of 5 percent per annum from Jan. 1, the suit states.

In addition to the money it claims it is owed, Four Seasons is seeking interest at 5 percent per annum, pre-judgment interest, court costs and other relief the court deems just.

It is being represented by Brad Pierce of Kramer and Frank in St. Louis.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 14-L-155.
