Three companies and employees are facing suit following a truck collision.
Ricky J. Johnson filed a lawsuit Jan. 15 in St. Clair Circuit Court against Wayne's Hauling Inc., F&C Truck Sales and Service Inc., Special K Trucking Company, Cyrus Durham and Jimmie Lee, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, on Feb. 27, 2012, the plaintiff was a passenger in a vehicle owned by Wayne's Hauling and driven by defendant Lee. At the time, the vehicle was being followed on a road in St. Louis by a tractor trailer driven by Durham and leased by Special K.
Lee slowed down to obey a red light, but Durham failed to stop in time, rear-ending the vehicle in which Johnson was a passenger, according to the complaint. Johnson is suing defendants Lee and Durham for negligently operating their vehicles, and is suing the defendant companies for negligent hiring.
Johnson is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. He is being represented in the case by attorney Dale R. Funk.
