A man who fell outside his apartment is suing the complex's owners.
Daniel J. Hofer filed a lawsuit Jan. 23 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Terra Properties, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 8, 2013, Hofer was walking in the parking lot of an apartment complex owned by the defendant and slipped on an accumulation of ice, causing him to slip and fall. The plaintiff is accusing Terra of failing to maintain the premises in a safe manner, which resulted in his fall and sustaining injuries.
Hofer is seeking damages in excess of $100,000, plus court costs. He is being represented in the case by attorney Keith Short.
