A woman is suing over claims that physicians' negligence caused the death of a loved one.
Rebecca L. Moyers, on behalf of the deceased Dorothy Patton, filed a wrongful death lawsuit Jan. 13 in the Madison County District Court against Dr. Rajnakant Patel, Patel Internal Medicine P.C., Dr. D'Andrienne C. Jones, The Healing Institute LLC and Rosewood Care Center of Alton.
The plaintiff claims on Dec. 29, 2012, Patton went to the defendants for medical services. The defendants are accused of failing to provide Dorothy with all the relevant information in regards to discontinuing anti-coagulation therapy for an unnamed medical condition. The lawsuit states Patton died on Feb. 15, 2013, as a result of the negligence of the defendants.
Moyers is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs.
