A Madison County man is suing over claims he sustained injuries as a result of an unsafe work environment.
Daniel C. Pickerel filed a lawsuit on Jan. 9 in the Madison County District Court against Norfolk Southern Railway Company, citing negligence.
Pickerel says on Jan. 20, 2011, he suffered injuries when he was getting off a railcar in Crewe, Va. According to the complaint, the defendant's alleged negligence caused severe and permanent damage to Pickerel's back, spine, hip and body.
Pickerel is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Madison County attorney Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt and Tobin P.C.
